Joint Statement from Her Excellency the Governor, Julia Crouch, OBE, and the Honourable Premier, Mrs. Cora Richardson Hodge, on Support for Jamaica Following Hurricane Melissa

In the aftermath of the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa, the Government and people of Anguilla extend heartfelt sympathies and unwavering support to the Government and people of Jamaica. We grieve with all who have lost loved ones, homes, and livelihoods, and we stand in solidarity as Jamaica begins the challenging process of recovery and rebuilding.

As a Caribbean family, we share in the pain and sorrow during this time. Anguilla stands beside Jamaica not just in words, but in spirit and action, extending our hands and hearts.

In this time of loss and rebuilding, we will work together with our partners to help restore hope and healing to the people of Jamaica. Coordination of relief and support activities in Anguilla will be managed through the Government of Anguilla, ensuring an organised, compassionate, and effective response.

Together, as one Caribbean family, we stand with the people of Jamaica - offering strength, solidarity, and hope for brighter days ahead.
