Foreword
This is the fifth Digest of Trade Statistics in Anguilla.  It covers the period 1995 - 2002 and contains
information relating to the direction of trade.  The figures for imports, domestic exports and re-exports shown
for a given year, represents the total record on Customs documents brought to account in that period.
They do not necessarily represent the actual amount of goods imported into the country or exported from
the country during that period.
The publication of the Trade Statistics Digest is a further indication of the importance that the Ministry of
Finance, Economic Development, Investment and Commerce places on the availability of timely and accurate
information concerning the Anguillian economy to meet the needs of policy-makers, as well as the private
sector and regional and international agencies.
This issue of the Digest includes a number of additional tables not available in previous issues.  These tables
allow for easier analysis as the imports are presented according to the Standard International Trade
Classifications (SITC) so analysts are able to see for the various groups of commodities their growth or decline
in importance.
Any suggestions that may assist us in improving the quality and content of future publications are welcome.
We wish to express our gratitude to the Customs Department, for without their assistance it would not be
possible to produce this publication without the information provided by the ASYCUDA system.  The tables
were produced using the EUROTRACE package.
