NOMINATION DAY

January 21st, 2010

Twenty candidates filed nomination papers on Thursday 21st January for Anguilla’s 2010 general election.

The Anguilla United Front is the only party registered with a full slate of seven candidates – District One Island Harbour Othlyn Vanterpool; District Two Sandy Hill Cora Richardson-Hodge; District Three Valley North Evans McNeil Rogers; District Four Valley South Victor F. Banks; District Five Road North Delsic Rey; District Six Road South Curtis Richardson; and District Seven West End Kenswick Richardson.

The United Front is led by Victor Banks.

The Anguilla United Movement headed by Hubert Hughes registered five candidates - District One Island Harbour Samuel Webster; District Four Valley South Evan Gumbs; District Five Road North Edison Baird; District Six Road South Hubert Hughes; and District Seven West End Walcott Richardson.

The Anguilla Progressive Party under the leadership of Brent Davis registered five candidates – District One Island Harbour Palmavon Webster; District Two East End Jerome Roberts; District Five Road North Fabian Lewis; District Six Road South Brent Davis; and District Seven West End Wilmoth Hodge.

Three independents – District Three Valley North Sutcliffe Hodge; and District One Island Harbour Terry Harrigan and Kennedy Hodge also registered as candidates.

Election Day is Monday 15th February 2010.
