PUBLIC INFORMATION CENTRE ALL THE INFORMATION & RESOURCES YOU NEED INTRODUCTION TO THE CENTRE: The "Public Outreach Centre" was facilitated to ensure that residents and visitors alike have full access to the support information and resources necessary for full participation in the wise use and management of Anguilla's resources. The centre also allows the staff of the department to be accessible in ways they could not normally be, whilst continuing with other daily off-site commitments. Before the centre, students, researchers, consultants, developers, visitors and residents alike depended on staff being available or being found by chance in office (in light of the many field monitoring and research commitments) and not have been afforded the full attention or information support being sought. Now, in addition to arranging meetings and consultations with staff, the centre allows for easy access to updates, information, training resources and much increased levels of interactions with stakeholders with similar interests. As the department receives the information the centre will serve to promote and provide access to such information. The highlight of the centre are the activities linked to the programmes of the department; waste recycling projects, research efforts and nature reserve as well as the ability of the public to participate in the many programs at various comfort levels with the department or simply with the support of the department. Ultimately, the centre is the starting point of the department in its push to have a well-established applied science centre, natural science museum and herbarium. The centre currently holds information packages for the public to take away, permanent displays to engage visitors and encourage support, as well as activities for visitors to learn and participate in. Such activities are focused around paper recycling, waste oil recycling, glass and plastics reuse and recycling… Connect to YouTube for Videos of activities from the Centre HOME POLLUTION AWARENESS CORNER BIODIVERSITY ADMINSTRATIVE SCHOOLS & KIDS DATABASE
